Craig Johnston, MA

Craig previously served as President and CEO of Service Access and Management, Inc. (SAM), a human services organization serving individuals and families throughout the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Craig initially studied History at Salem College in West Virginia with the intent to become a teacher and later got his Master’s degree in psychology at Kutztown University.

He has worked as a Resident Advisor, Rehabilitation Counselor, Client Services Manager, Crisis Intervention Worker, Mental Health Therapist, and Crisis Intervention Supervisor at various mental health agencies. In 1997, Craig helped design and create Service Access and Management, Inc., which was created to provide intake, case management, and crisis intervention and to manage the contracts of the various human service providers as a private organization under contract to the Berks County Mental Health/Mental Retardation Program. SAM, Inc. provides services in 60 counties serving over 25000 individuals with over 850 employees. Craig has served on the NACM board since 2012.
