As with past conferences, we make a limited number of scholarships available for local mental health advisory committee members, citizen advocates, consumer/family advocates or students who may not be able to attend the conference without some assistance. The scholarships are being made available through the associations and its member organizations.
Since we have no outside source of grant funding for scholarships, this is not intended to pay for someone who already plans to attend, rather it should allow others to attend who would not be able to go without the scholarship. The fall conference scholarship subcommittee has sole discretion of awarding scholarships.
The program will cover conference registration fees only. Please complete the attached form indicating specific requests and provide us with a rationale for why the scholarship should be granted.
We hope the conference will develop relationships with the consumer/ advocate community and provide opportunities to learn together about important issues.
We have very restricted resources, so we are forced to limit the number of scholarships available. Any scholarships which are unused by our member organizations will be distributed through the Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Mental Health Association, Consumer Survivor Network, or State Advisory Council.
Please respond as soon as possible and no later than September 4, 2009.
Additional scholarship information is available by emailing nacm@yournacm.com or calling (402) 441-4385.
